Craig Phillips, the winner of the first ever series of Big Brother UK, has reflected on the show's debut 23 years on. Phillips, who was just 21 when he won the show in 2000, says the new housemates face "a lot of pressure".

"It's hard to believe it's been almost 23 years since I won Big Brother," Phillips said. "It was such a different time back then. The show was a huge hit, and it changed my life forever."

Phillips said the new housemates should be prepared for the intense public scrutiny that comes with being on the show.

"The housemates are under a lot of pressure," he said. "They're constantly being watched, and everything they say and do is being judged. It can be a tough experience, but it's also an amazing one."

Since winning Big Brother, Phillips has gone on to become a successful DIY expert. He has presented several TV shows, including Craig Phillips: DIY SOS and Craig Phillips: The Great Indoors.
